The annual Information Technology conference started in 1986, and was held in Blacksburg, VA. A key organizer of the first conference was Bill Murphy, who passed away in 2001, and has been remembered at many conferences through the NETC Bill Murphy Distinguished Speaker. Since the first conference, NETC has continued to expand its outreach and increase the variety of topics covered to educate attendees on ever-changing technology and its uses.
